Meet The Team

L'shay Nikkol is a licensed esthetician, tattooist and beauty school owner. She has over 10 years of experience in the beauty industry. In 2021, she opened  up her very own Permanent Makeup Studio, L'Shay Nikkol Beauty in West Allis, WI. After using that her PMU studio as a training facility for a year, she decided it was time to expand and open her very own beauty school.

In 2023, she opened The Academy of Skin & Beauty which aims to provide aspiring beauty professionals with a comprehensive and immersive learning experience. She has a team of experienced instructors who are experts in their respective fields, students can expect to receive world-class training that covers a wide range of beauty disciplines, including skincare, makeup artistry, permanent makeup, and more.

Kelsey earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communication from UW-Milwaukee in 2012.  She worked as a lead teacher for Milwaukee Public Schools for 8 years.

In 2021, Kelsey quit teaching to help longtime friend L'Shay open up her Permanent Makeup Studio, L'Shay Nikkol Beauty in West Allis WI. Acting as L'Shay's assistant, Kelsey helped her with daily studio operations, clients and staff.

At present time, Kelsey is the Assistant Director at The Academy of Skin & Beauty.  She is excited to be working at ASB, it is a state-of-the-art facility that is equipped with the latest tools and technologies needed to provide the students with hands-on experience in a real studio environment. Nothing is more important to Kelsey than the success of our students, whether that is in the classroom or out into the real world.

As a highly passionate saleswoman, DeAnna is no stranger to changing people lives. Her will to push you to your highest potential is innate. She truly sees the Beauty in everything; it’s no secret that she landed in the Beauty industry, most importantly with The Academy of Skin & Beauty.

 

She enjoys networking within the Beauty industry; rather its a pop up shop, a training class, or branding the business, she’s all in. Her get it done attitude is perfect for helping students with the sometimes long and daunting task of enrolling into school which is why her role as Admission specialist is perfect for her. Her affectionate smile and coachable demeanor there is truly no limit to sucess. When she’s not recruiting, setting up events, helping with inventory, or looking for the next big thing you can find her being a mom, wife, and friend! 

During Ashley’s journey, she found herself trying multiple things to start a career including, miscellaneous jobs try to find her fitting in a career choice. Ashley has always been into fashion and beauty, so when she found out about the opportunity to be apart of the esthetics program at Aveda Institute of Beauty and Wellness, she wasted no time and enrolled right away.

 

Shortly after in 2015, Ashley became a licensed esthetician and sought out opportunities of becoming an Arch Expert at Benefit Brow Bar inside Ulta Beauty. Within years, Ashley became the most requested brow artist for Benefit Cosmetics in Milwaukee, transforming the idea of women’s beauty with just her creativity, expertise, and of course, brow wax.

 

In 2019, while still working for Benefit Brow Bar, she came across another opportunity, which was to be an instructor at the very same place she started, Aveda. Receiving so much positive feedback from her students only proved instructing was the right decision, and it was there she met L’Shay, who was also instructing for the institution.

Ashley continues to strive for greatness curating students to become amazing versions of themselves within the world of esthetics! 

Nicky is a Professional who’s love and knowledge in the Beauty Industry runs deep in different facets. Nicky started in the Beauty Industry in 1994 after graduating from MATC and becoming a licensed Nail Technician.  Nicky then continued her education and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Communication from Concordia University and her Master’s Degree in Business from Cardinal Stritch University.

 

Nicky felt as though there was so much more to be learned with the body and skin so she enrolled in Aveda Beauty and Wellness Aesthetician program where she graduated and became a licensed Aesthetician. Nicky currently works at The Academy Of Skin & Beauty as an Esthiology Instructor. Teaching has always been a passion of hers and she is excited to form many great relationships with her future students.
